Successful producer Dil Raju has bought the theatrical rights of Nanban which is a South Indian remake of blockbuster Hindi film '3 Idiots' starring Aamir Khan. Shankar is directing the movie, it will be his first ever remake in his career. The Southern version of the film has been directed by Shankar and hence there was heavy competition among the producers to bag the dubbing rights. The film titled 3 Rascals in Telugu and is slated for release on January 26.
Initially it was though the Gemini pictures would release the film in Telugu too but now Dil Raju has taken it. Dil Raju has previously taken Shankar produced Eeram as Vaishali in Telugu.
3 Rascals stars Tamil star Vijay in the lead with Rangam fame Jeeva and Okariki Okaru fame Sriram as supoorting actors. Director SJ Suriya is playing the role of Chatur Ramalingam in this film. Ileana is the heroine of the film and music for the film is given by Harris Jayaraj. 3 Rascals was initially expected to release for Sankranthi along with its Tamil version but now the film will release on January 26.
